Hopefully if everybody does this, the hassle it causes the vendors makes their lifes hell, and thats got to be a good thing Also, make sure to report any dodgy listing to TM and ebay straight away. If you know of any well known automotive products that are clearly fake, please try to gather as much info about them as possible, and make a post in this thread with as many comparrison images as you can provide, and the trade me/ebay vendor names of those selling them etc. Something you will never have buying form an ebay vendor with 18 differrent accounts. So the main piece of advice I want to impart to everyone is to only buy your brand name items from authorised vendors, so you have some recourse if the milk goes sour. I know with the large amounts of money we all typically spend on our cars, we are by default, always going to be looking for the wisest way to spend our money, but when it comes to car parts, the age old addage of "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" could never be more accurate. The inspiration for this thread was Lukes "trade me alert" sticky thread, as I believe that if we can stop someone on this forum being fooled by a fake fuel pump or wastegate for example, we can hopefully save them the cost of rebuilding a motor too. I have been slowly compiling this info over the past few years and have been wanting to start this thread for ages, but procrastination has always got the better of me. This thread is to alert people about all the cheap and nasty, fake products from China/taiwan that have flooded the automotive industry in the past few years.
